Brown BLog Predicts: Week 4 - Browns vs Lions

There are a lot of storylines to this week's Browns game:

- The Lions timeline and philosophy to build a winner, compared to the Browns

- The story of Lions ownership compared to the Browns ownership

- The Lions coming off a big Monday night win but having one less day of rest

- Home field advantage for the Lions

- The Browns dominant defense

- The Browns rookies who are already flashing Pro Bowl potential

- The Browns offense inability to move the ball.

A focus on any one of the above can lead to different predictions on Sunday

I am going to look at ownership.  Since Sheila Ford took over the reigns as Principle Owner and Chairperson of the Lions she has led the team wisely, using support from people like Chris Spielman to guide her in the quality of persons she puts in change however she has avoided any involvement in football operations decision making, preferring to put full accountability into her operations staff.  Meanwhile the Browns owner Jimmy Haslam still directly manages both Kevin Stefanski and Andrew Berry and can't seem to resist influencing the biggest football decisions.

The results are self evident.

That said, the Browns are showing signs of life, and the win over Green Bay gives Browns fans hope that this season won't be another disaster.

I envision the Browns leaning into Quinshon Judkins, eating clock and I also envision the Browns defense making life hard on Detroit.   But not enough for the Browns to sneak out of Detroit with a win.

The Brown BLog Predicts

Lions     24

Browns  17
