Brown BLog Predicts: Week 9 - The NFL Chess Game, Browns vs Saints

The NFL season is like a chess match and while the Browns started strong at 5-2, the Jets and Steelers have provided NFL teams a blueprint for how to defeat the Browns and this week in New Orleans, if the Saints follow that blueprint, they should walk away with a win.

- Bring zone blitzes against the Browns Offensive Line

- Attack the Browns defense by adjusting tendencies.   The Steelers achieved this by figuring out that part of Carson Schwesinger's "magic" is that he is super prepared and likes to take risks when he makes a read.   Until the Browns game, the Steelers often put gigantic TE Darnell Washington in motion and used his massive body as a lead blocker on wide receiver screens.   Schwesinger read this play twice and took off to smear the Wide Receiver while Washington turned up field twice and was wide open for a chunk reception.   Look for Schwesigner to slow down his reads and look for New Orleans to try to keep him guessing

In addition to the above factors, the Browns have second year QB Shedeur Sanders starting Sunday in place of Deshaun Watson who is recovering from a concussion.   Sanders is still learning the ropes and it will show on the road in New Orleans.
